Anne Heche est une actrice, réalisatrice, scénariste et productrice américaine née le 25 mai 1969 à Aurora (en) dans l'Ohio aux États-Unis.

Biographie
Anne Heche est né dans l'Aurore, Ohio, fille de Nancy et de Donald Heche. Son père était un organiste, un fondateur d'église, un ministre de Baptiste et un directeur de chœur. Dans son livre, Call me Crazy, elle a prétendu que son père l'a importunée pendant son enfance, endonnant son simplex d'herpès. Son père révèle plus tard son homosexualité à sa famille avant de mourir de SIDA en 1983.Cette même année, Nate le frère ainé de Heche, qui était aussi un acteur, meurt dans un accident de voiture juste quelques mois avant sa remise des diplômes du lycée.

Elle a débute sa carrière à 12 ans comme choriste dans un café-théâtre. Découverte à 15 ans par un découvreur de talent alors qu'elle jouait en amateur au théâtre de son lycée, elle refusa d'abord un engagement dans la série As the World Turns afin de rester soutenir sa famille.Finalement à 17 ans, après l'obtention de son diplôme, elle part pour New York jouer dans Another World le rôle des deux jumelles Vicki Hudson Frame et Marley McKinnon. Ses performances pendant 4 années dans la série lui valurent un Daytime Emmy Award en 1991.

Elle quitta la série en 1991 pour se lancer dans le cinéma. Elle joua dans Mariage ou célibat (Walking and Talking) en 1996, puis dans La Jurée (The Juror) aux côtés de Demi Moore. Mais c'est le rôle de l'épouse de Johnny Depp dans Donnie Brasco qui lui attira les louangesde la critique.On la retrouva ensuite dans Volcano aux côtés de Tommy Lee Jones, puis sa performance dans le film de Barry Levinson Des hommes d'influence (Wag the Dog) avec Robert De Niro et Dustin Hoffman lui valut le National Board of Review Award pour le meilleur second rôle féminin. Elle tourna ensuite successivement dans 6 jours, 7 nuits avec Harrison Ford, Psycho (avec Vince Vaughn et Julianne Moore, remake du célèbre film d'Alfred Hitchcock), sans oublier Loin du paradis (Return to Paradise) où elle retrouva Vince Vaughn dans une nouvelle version du film français Force majeure et également John Q aux côtés de Denzel Washington.

Elle annonce en 1997 sa relation homosexuelle avec Ellen DeGeneres et vivra avec elle pendant 3 ans et demi. En 2001 à 31 ans, elle sort son autobiographie, Call me Crazy, dans laquelle elle tente d’exorciser ses vieux démons [Le livre fera partie des meilleurs ventes du New York Times et du Los Angeles Times] Parallèlement, elle épouse cette même année Coleman « Coley » Laffoon, un cameraman indépendant. L'année suivante naîtra de ce mariage leur fils HomerHeche Laffoon.

Elle choisit dès lors des engagements qui lui permettent de concilier ces différents rôles avec son métier d'actrice. Elle fit d'abord ses débuts à Broadway en 2002 dans Proof, le drame écrit par David Auburn, crédité d'un Tony Award. Elle reçut les éloges des critiques de théâtre et la pièce resta dans les annales récentes parmi celles ayant eu la plus longue durée de vie hors comédie musicale. Elle récidiva en 2004 aux côtés d'Alec Baldwin, avec une reprise de la comédie Twentieth Century dans le rôle de Lily Garland, initialement créé au cinéma par Carole Lombard en 1934. Sa prestation lui valut une nomination pour les Tony Awards.

Elle ne s'arrêta pas pour autant de tourner dans plusieurs films. Tout d'abord un long métrage, Birth, aux côtés de Nicole Kidman et de Lauren Bacall. Ensuite un certain nombre de téléfilms, dont Le Choix de Gracie (Gracie's Choice) avec Kristen Bell. Son interprétation d'une mère abusive et droguée lui a valu en 2004 une nomination aux Emmy Awards. On la retrouve en 2005 dans Les Fantômes de l'amour, un film à suspense dans le domaine du paranormal qu'elle a elle-même produit. À la fin 2005, on la voit dans Un Noël à New York, un conte de Noël où elle joue le rôle de Catherine O'Mara, une conservatrice de musée qui devient le mentor d'un adolescent en fugue après une dispute avec son père. Début 2006, elle apparaît sur le petit écran dans Fatal Desire, un drame inspiré d'une histoire vraie au sujet du premier meurtre lié à l'Internet aux États-Unis.

Par le passé, on l'a souvent retrouvée en tant qu'invitée vedette dans différentes séries télévisées. Tout d'abord dans Ally McBeal en 2001, dans laquelle elle jouait le rôle de Melanie West, une jeune femme sympathique et amusante atteinte du syndrome de La Tourette. Plus récemment en 2004 on l'a retrouvée dans la série familiale Everwood, où elle interprétait le rôle d’Amanda Hayes, celle par qui le scandale arrive ; puis en 2005 dans Nip/Tuck,série sur le thème de la chirurgie esthétique où elle a eu le visage complètement  transformé pour lesbesoins du rôle.

C'est un message plein de colère qu'Anne Heche publie en 2005 sur le forum de son site officiel. L'actrice américaine, ex-compagne de Ellen DeGeneres, reproche en effet à sa mère de participer à des conférences de l'association ultra-conservatrice Focus on the family. Lors de ses conférences, Nancy Heche prétend que la prière peut guérir l'homosexualité et que l'actrice aurait quitté Ellen DeGeneres grâce à ses prières de mère.

Depuis plusieurs années Anne Heche espérait obtenir sa propre série télévisée sur une grande chaîne américaine. C'est chose faite depuis le printemps 2006. En effet, l'épisode pilote qu'elle a tourné au début de l'année a été retenu par les dirigeants de la chaîne ABC. Dans la nouvelle série, s'intitulant Une fille en Alaska, elle joue le rôle d'une conseillère en relation qui, après avoir appris que son fiancé la trompait, se retrouve bloquée dans une petite ville en Alaska remplie d'hommes célibataires.

Anne Heche vit à Los Angeles avec sa famille.Elle et son mari, Coley Laffoon, se sont séparés officiellement à la fin du janvier de 2007. Fin 2008, Anne Heche attend un heureux évènement(Fffff) de son nouveau compagnon, James Tupper. Leur fils, Atlas Heche Tupper, est né pendant le week-end du 7-8 mars 2009.

Fun Albeit By The Numbers Disaster B-Movie

Head of Los Angeles Emergency Operations Mike Roark (Tommy Lee Jones) and plucky seismologist Dr.Amy Barnes(Anne Heche)find themselves dealing with a crisis of monumental proportions when Los Angeles is suddenly threatened by an erupting volcano!

While I have serious doubts with regards to the legitimacy of a lot of what's presented on screen, that's also true of most disaster films and make no mistake, that is what this is... a 1990s attempt at updating the classic 1970s style disaster B-movie. It has the usual disaster movie focus of looking at the crisis from the point of view of several key, barely fleshed out aside from our leads, characters. It is a little slow getting started but once the lava flows, I have to admit I just sat back, grabbed some popcorn and had fun watching this one.

Where this movie best succeeds is in its portrayal of human courage in the face of impending doom and disaster, my favorite scenes being the hurried rescue aboard the stranded subway train, Roark running in front of a falling building in an effort to save his only daughter and Dr. Calder trying valiantly to save lives in the middle of a busy street. Where it falters is in its attempt to say something about race relations, those scenes proving absolutely groan inducing. Plus it offers very little truly new and surprising, very little we haven't seen in movies of this type before, but at the end of the night, I have to admit it held my interest as a fun, popcorn movie.

There's also a similar aspect to the above . In THREADS people are left in the rubble to die since it's not practical to save them . Here the laws of physics have been changed so that if anyone is trapped under a burning truck a passer by can magically lift up the truck with one hand thereby rescuing the injured party .

There's even a scene of self sacrifice that has to be seen to be believed , not that the scene was in any way believable to start with The English speaking world are obsessed with their pets and Jackson used this to harrowing effect in THREADS . We saw family pets suffocating in firestorms.If you didn't feel sorry for the human beings killed you'd feel sorry for the poor animals . In VOLCANO we're treated to several scenes of pets in peril being rescued . I'm not sure how many people die on screen but I'm certain not one single type of mammal dies on screen apart from homo sapiens I don't believe for one moment that Mick Jackson's contrast between this and THREADS is coincidental - It's done entirely on purpose with the only connection being a scene of irony .

In THREADS this takes the form of characters standing in front of a billboard advertising life insurance while in VOLCANO a character reads a book on writing screenplays . You won't need life insurance when the bomb drops while VOLCANO shows being able to read a book on screenplays doesn't mean you're capable of writing one Unfortunately VOLCANO flopped at the box office and only made half its production costs in American cinemas which effectively ended Mick Jackson's successful Hollywood career which is shameful . I don't know about you but anyone who can direct two pieces of totally contrasting work is a literal genius in my opinion

Mick Jackson's Antithesis to THREADS(1)

I find it's impossible to write a review of a Mick Jackson movie without pointing out that in 1984 he shocked the nation of Britain with his nuclear holocaust docu-drama THREADS . Anyone who saw that on its BBC broadcast will never forget the grim , bleak , depressing and powerful depiction of the end of humanity . Seeing as THREADS was set in the Yorkshire town of Sheffield and filmed on a budget of what appeared to be three dollars fifty cents you'd think he'd use some of his unquestionable talent and VOLCANO's $90 million budget to make a convincing scenario of a city devastated by events beyond its control But Jackson has been there , done that , bought the T-Shirt and written his name in broadcasting history with THREADS and the last thing he wants is to make another grim shocker where millions of city dwellers die . Picking the dumbest script imaginable Jackson has decided he's going to enjoy himself this time and filmed the complete opposite to his nuclear holocaust horror show.

Remember in THREADS a myriad of scientific advisers were used ? It goes without saying that no scientific bodies were consulted in the making of VOLCANO . Mind you this may actually work in the context of the story since the characters are so dumb , there is a logic to having a bunch of underground workers being burned to death and no one saying " Hey these men were killed by lava . If we don't evacuate the city millions of people are going to be burned alive by a volcanic eruption "

Remember in THREADS after the bomb drops its everyman for himself ? That was probably the most terrifying thing about the docu-drama , of having your throat cut for your meager supplies of food . But not here where the guardians of law and order are not only noble enforcers of justice throughout the movie but also make sure no one is discriminated on the grounds of race and culture . You've also got the feeling that if looters existed in this movie they wouldn't be shot but given a place on a counseling program

The film soldiers on, unsure of how it can keep raising the stakes while remaining plausible (it doesn't!) and it will satisfy those just looking for a noisy disaster movie but no more than the clichés that those produce. The script has a few digs at LA (the news reporting, the pet obsession etc) but these don't amount to much but it works much better than the rather sickening attempts at racial commenting in the final few scenes ('everyone looks the same' – ugh!). The cast try hard to convince us that they are real people in real danger but even the talent involved cannot do much more than put on grim faces and soldier on.

Jones is a good lead because he has a solid presence, but even he cannot make it exciting when he is placed within inches of anything falling/burning/exploding. Heche simply fits into the 'I hate it when I'm right' expert without really bringing more than competence to the role, while Hoffmann simply tries to find trouble to get into anytime the film dips. Cheadle is good support but minor subplots featuring the likes of David, Corbett and Rispoli only serve to highlight that the film cannot even manage to do the disaster movie stable of having each character have a background to make us care.

Overall this is an average disaster movie at best and, as such, will only really play well to those that like that sort of thing. The script is weak and cannot wait until the lava flows but even then struggles to make it exciting, throwing specific near misses at us again and again to keep us interesting. The cast have nothing to work with and make little impression but viewers may find this has just enough going for it to make it watchable if totally forgettable.(ben non moi je ne l'ai pas oublié ce film...j'ai bien aîmé DAYLIGHT avec Stallone également Mais je n'ai pas encore vu LE PIC DE DANTE.Par contre j'ai detesté INDEPENDANCE DAY)
